Hereford Cathedral

Set in the heart of the city, Hereford Cathedral contains some of the finest architecture from Norman times to the present day. The cathedral holds many events throughout the summer such a concerts, recitals, exhibitions and a working stonemasons yard where skilled craftsmen display the methods used to restore the cathedral. Along with the events you can turn up and take a leisurely stroll around the cathedral, with numerous walk round guides available.

Burton Court

Situated a few short miles north of Hereford, Burton Court is a typical squire’s house which was built around the surviving 14th Century Great Hall. It is a family run business which provides a perfect location for a wedding, private or public function, film work or just a place to relax and take in the beauty of the gardens. In recent times Burton Court was mentioned in Simon Jenkins’s award-winning book ‘England’s Thousand Best Houses.’

Goodrich Castle

The beautiful red sandstone of Goodrich Castle provides a perfect place to relax and unwind while overlooking some magnificent scenery such as the River Wye and Symonds Yat. Built in the late 11th early 12th century the castle provides families with brilliant days out. These range from battle re-enactments to treasure hunts, and with a free audio tour that recounts the ‘siege of Goodrich Castle’ there is something for everyone here.

The Cider museum

Summer wouldn’t be complete without a refreshing pint of cider! So why not take some time to explore the history of cider making and visit the Cider museum Hereford. During your visit you’ll be able to explore how the apples are milled and pressed and then fermented to produce cider. Not only that but you can view and explore a number of artefacts associated with the history of cider making including presses, bottles, old photographs and rare English lead crystal flutes. The artefacts are expertly protected and the museum has received accreditation status by the Arts Council, England for its high standards of artefact care.
